Frances M. Hansen

NEILLSVILLE -- Frances Mary Hansen died peacefully Dec. 24, 2007, at the Memorial Health and Rehabilitation Center in Neillsville. She was 101 years old.

A funeral service for Frances will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at the Gesche Funeral Home in Neillsville. The Very Reverend Woodrow H. Pace will officiate.

Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. Interment will be in the town of Seif cemetery at a later date. Serving as casket bearers will be Shane Herron, Clay Herron, Tom Wallace and Jerry Muller The Gesche Funeral Home of Neillsville is assisting the family with arrangements.

Frances Mary Hansen was born Aug. 1, 1906, the daughter of Jacob and Florence Zygutis in Chicago, where she attended school. She married Leo Gacy in Chicago in 1924. He died in 1932. In September of 1947 she married Art Hansen.

Together they started the Simple Apron Co. in Chicago. In 1963 they moved their business and factory to Willard. When they retired in 1973, they moved to Neillsville. Frances enjoyed gardening and sewing. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Neillsville.

She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Alma Gray of Arizona; four grandchildren, Patricia (Steve) Lempke of Illinois, and Mark (Jodie) Gacy, Justin Gray and Joy Gray, all of Arizona; a step-grandson, Brian (Lisa) Hansen of Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Dan and James Lempke and Matthew and Megan Gacy; and her special family, Karlene (Tom) Wallace of Neillsville, Shane (Tammy) Herron and Clay (Denise) Herron of Appleton.

She was preceded in death by her mother from a terrible flu in 1918 and her father in 1962; her husbands; Leo Gacy in 1932 and Arthur Hansen in 1991; a son, Robert Gray in 2005; grandson, Mike in 2003; and a sister, Harriet in 1934.
