Elmer A. Schindler

CURTISS -- Elmer Arthur Schindler, 84, of Curtiss, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2007, at Clark County Health Care Center, Owen, Wis.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday Dec. 12, 2007, at Clark County Health Care Center Chapel, Owen, Wis. Inurnment will be in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Loyal.

The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until time of services Wednesday at the chapel. Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Elmer was born Nov. 19, 1923, in Chippewa County to Sebastian and Anna (Bowe) Schindler. He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. After his discharge, he worked as a mechanic in Chicago from 1949 to 1971. Elmer then moved to the Curtiss area and operated Curtiss Auto Service with his brother James until retiring in 1983.

Elmer is survived by his sisters, Leona Lieske, Minnetonka, Minn., and Margaret Hinkel, Madison; his brothers, Fred Sr. (Cecelia) Schindler, Curtiss, Albert, Lemont, Ill., and James (Lois) Schindler, Unity, Wis.
