Curtiss, Wis. - Sept. 12, 1946

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Geary and family returned home on Wednesday from a week’s visit with relatives at Westby.

Miss Alma Thompson who teaches at Boyd spent the week-end at her home.

Michael Novak left Sunday on a business trip to Baltimore, Md.

Mr. and Mrs. John Podgorksi of Winnetka, Ill., were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Anderson while here on a business trip last week. Mrs. Podgorski who lived here with her parents, the late Mr. and Mrs. John Christensen, disposed of her farm property.

Mr. and Mrs. Tovio Kallio moved into the home of the latter’s grand-mother, Mrs. Amelia Neitsch last Saturday.

Mrs. Marcus Hermanson, who has been ill the past week, was admitted to the Marshfield, Wisconsin Hospital on Monday for a physical check up. She returned home on Friday.

The Curtiss public schools were closed on Friday until Sept. 16th on account of a polio scare in the district.

Miss Kathryn Peterson went to Stevens Point to resume her studies at Central State Teachers College where she will be a junior.

Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Laabs left on Thursday for St. Louis, Mo., where they will visit the former’s son and daughter in law, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Laabs. They will visit their daughter, Mrs. George Pease, and family at Wisconsin Rapids and relatives at Byron, Ill., enroute to St. Louis.

Mrs. Frank Kraut is visiting her daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Zuelke, at Madison.

Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Olson returned home from their honeymoon on Saturday. Mrs. Olson is again at her duties in the Curtiss State Bank.

Mrs. Paul Fricke and infant daughter have returned home from the Memorial hospital, Wausau.

Rev. and Mrs. G. E. Borreson attended a Clark county pastoral conference at Unity Monday afternoon. Rev. and Mrs. J. A. Olson were hosts of the group.

Miss Minnie Hienzel of Portland, Ore., visited with Grandma Tonn and Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Tonn the first of the week.

Miss Emily Hennlich has entered the Hade School of Design and Fashion, for the advanced course, at Milwaukee.
