Flatland, Virginia I. (1 FEB 1941)

The marriage of Edward M. Herrell to Miss Virginia Ione Flatland took place at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Bloomer, at a five o’clock candlelight service on Saturday, Feb. 1, 1940. Rev. C.F. Clauson, pastor of the church, officiated.

After receiving the hearty congratulations of relatives and friends present, they enjoyed a buffet supper and a social evening at the home of the bride’s parents, later leaving for a short trip to points in Wisconsin and Illinois. They will make their home at Augusta.

The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Flatland of Bloomer. She has a degree from the Eau Claire State Teachers College with post graduate work at the University of Wisconsin. She taught in the high school at Boyd, going from there to Owen (Clark Co., Wis.), resigning her position at the end of the semester. She has a charming personality and a host of friends.

The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. E.G. Herrell of Augusta. He has a degree from the University of Wisconsin and is associated with his father in business.

Friends of the happy couple extend to them hearty felicitations and wish them happiness and prosperity abundantly in their future life.
