Jones, Kenneth L. (31 Dec. 1953 - 10 Dec. 2007)

Kenneth L. Jones, 53, of Janesville died peacefully at his home on Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, with his family by his side. He was born on Dec. 31, 1953, in Waukesha, WI, son of the late Gordon C. and Genevieve (Horres) Jones. Ken graduated from Colby, Wis. High School in Colby, WI, and later Waukesha County Technical College with an Associate Degree. He married Ruth A. Paulson on June 11, 1976, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Milton, and he was the Facilities Director at Beloit College for many years. Ken served in the U.S. Marine Corps from Aug. 1, 1973, until he was Honorably discharged on Dec. 18, 1975. Ken was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Milton and the Montello Gun Club. He was a very avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, golfing and a few trips to the casinos. Ken was very proud of his family and always looked forward to spending time with his three grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; 2 children, Kristopher (Jennifer) Jones of Milton and Kimberly (Jason) Short of Janesville; 3 grandchildren: Kaya Lyn Jones, Stephany Nicolle Jones, and Jayahr Kenneth Short; his brothers and sisters: Daniel (Peggy) Jones of Sheboygan, WI, John (Mary) Jones of Fort Atkinson, WI, Carol Jones of Waukesha, WI, Barbara (Louis) Nagy of Necedah, WI, Patricia (Dean) Colburn of Dousman, WI, and Michael Jones of Montello, WI; brothers and sisters-in-law: Rose (Ray) Schmeiser of Wausau, WI, Rita Paulson of Texas and Rick (Sue) Paulson of New Richmond, WI; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws and his brother-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 15, 2007, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, MILTON, with Msgr. James Uppena officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, with full Military Rites provided by Kienow-Hilt Post #1621.

Visitation will be on Friday from 5 until 8 p.m. at the WHITCOMB-LYNCH-ALBRECHT FUNERAL HOME, MILTON, 828 S. Janesville St. (608) 868-2542.
