Curtiss, Wis. - Jan. 18, 1945

Pvt. Lyle Johnson, 21, was seriously wounded in action on Dec. 26th in Belgium, according to a War Department telegram received on Saturday by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jake Johnson. Lyle is a graduate of Abbotsford, Wis. High School. He entered military service in June, 1943, and received his training at Camp Knox, Kentucky. He was home on furlough in August, 1944, after which he spent a few days at Camp Chaffer, Ark., and Ft. Meade, Maryland, before leaving for overseas in early September. He was with General Patton’s 3rd army, fourth division, and is now hospitalized.

Miss Ethel Erickson spent the past week-end with Miss Evelyn Fahrenbach at Edgar.

Miss Lucille Jakel, nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, spent the week-end with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jakel.

Mrs. Michael Novak and Miss Kathryn Peterson of Chicago are spending the week with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Peterson.

Mrs. Frank Kraut was hostess to the Merry Go Round Club on Thursday of last week.

Mr. and Mrs. John Lokken visited the former’s mother, Mrs. Tena Lokken, who is living with her daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Frances Tuttle, at Marshfield, on Wednesday of last week.
