The detailed report of the department to date shows that county officers investigated 230 accidents, in which 110 persons were injured in addition to the 12 killed.

Fatalities in which railroads were involved occurred in the town of Stettin June 14 when two Antigo North Western road trainmen, Julius Lebert and William Fondow, were killed as their train and a Marathon county truck and trailer crashed near Wausau; on March 3 when Mrs. Julia Higgins, 83, Spencer, was killed as she was struck by a train at Spencer, and on October 14 when August Zastrow, 62, Mosinee, route 2, was killed at the Kelly railroad crossing as his car and a train crashed.

Pedestrians who were killed when struck by motor vehicles were Earl Stieber, 5, town of Marathon, in the town of Marathon on February 27, and John Keck, 62, town of Weston, at Rothschild on March 1st.

Alfred Rhyner, 53, Schofield, died of injuries sustained August 27 when he fell from a car in Schofield, and Elmer F. Huebner, 47, Stratford, route 3, and Merwin Olson, 22, Curtiss, route 1, were killed when their cars overturned on August 12 and February 13 in the towns of Day and Hull, respectively.

Two young women, the Misses Anna Fisher, Spencer, route 1, and Delores Engeldinger, Milwaukee, both 19, were killed in the same accident on August 27 in the town of McMillan. The third fatality due to two vehicles crashing was Dr. Fred Worsinski, 68, a Marshfield veterinarian, who was killed in the town of Spencer January 10th.
