Mrs. Helen Eichenger, 76, passed away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Bauernfeind of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), on June 28th, 1940, of cancer.
Helen Bach was born in Bavaria Germany on Oct. 19th, 1863. She was married to Geo. Eichinger in 1883 and eight years later came to America with her husband and family, and located at Medford, Wis. She resided there until 1919 and for three years in San Leopoldo, Brazil, A.A. Her husband passed away on Feb. 4, 1926, at Dorchester, where she continued to reside until moving to Chicago in 1928. She came to Thorp in April of this year.
Surviving relatives are one son, Joseph, of Chicago; seven daughters, Mrs. Helen Bauernfeind, Dorchester, Mrs. John Bauernfeind, Thorp, Mrs. Earl Smith, Chicago, Sister Mary Asella, O.S.F., Sister Mary Maximina, O.S.F, Sister Mary Hermella, O.S.F. and Sister Mary Gissela, O.S.F., all of St. Joseph’s Convent, Milwaukee. One son, George, 29, died here in 1931.
Funeral services were held at St. Louis Church at Dorchester, Monday morning, July 1st, with a solemn requiem high mass by the following clergy: Celebrant, Rev. Arnold Muckerheide, Thorp; Deacon, Rev. Gregory Reuter, Medford; Sub-Deacon, Rev. Peter Dickopf, Rib Lake, and funeral oration by Rev. Phillip Weller, Dorchester, Wis.
Interment took place at the parish cemetery at Dorchester, Wis.
