Flink, Mathilda #3 (14 Oct. 1858 - 4 Aug. 1944)

Mrs. Mathilda Flink of Unity died Friday morning at 11 o’clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Dallman in Milwaukee where she made her home the past year. She reached the age of 85 years and old age complications were the cause of her death. She had been an invalid for years. The body was brought to Unity and at 2:00 o’clock at the Trinity Lutheran church, Rev. Arthur Almquist officiated and burial was made in the Unity Lutheran cemetery.

Mrs. Flink was born on October 15, 1856, in Sweden and came to the United States 63 years ago and settled in Unity where she lived until a year ago when she went to Milwaukee. She was married to Andrew Flink in Sweden. He died in May, 1941.

Surviving are nine children, Mrs. William (Marie) Dallman, Mrs. Herman (Jen) Uecker and Carl and Oscar Flink of Milwaukee, William and John Flink of Minneapolis and Mrs. Sam (Ella) Stark, August and Ted Flink, all of Unity, Wis. Also 21 grand children and eight great grand children.

*** Note: The mistakes in the original obituary have been corrected in this transcription. The original stated that Mathilda was born in 1856, that her husband died in 1931, and the spellings of the first names of the daughters were Mary and Gen. Also, August and Ted appeared as August Ted Flink. Family records indicate that she was born on Oct. 14, but it has not been proven.
