Diane Halverson

ABBOTSFORD -- Diane C. Halverson, 67, Abbotsford, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at the Golden Living Center-Continental Manor in Abbotsford, Wis.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2007, at Christ Lutheran Church, Abbotsford, Wis. Burial will be in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation with family and friends will be from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Diane Clara Halverson was born March 29, 1940, in Colby, the daughter of Arthur and Fern (Kramer) Halverson. She was united in marriage to Woodrow Schmutzler Jr. and they were later divorced.

Diane was postmaster at Riplinger until 1967 and later was a mail carrier for the city of Marshfield. She was also employed with People Exchange Bank of Thorp and the Clark County AODA.

She is survived by her children, Lore (Vern) Ponshocke of Nekoosa, Todd (Diane) Schmutzler of Riplinger, and Wendy Jo (Chris Markworth) Rossman of Marshfield; six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

She is further survived by her brothers and sisters: Arthur (Nancy) Halverson of Riplinger; Faye (Frank) Benvenuto of Grafton; Jean (Wayne) Gaul of Park Falls; Rodney Halverson, Scott Halverson, Forest Halverson and Charlene Halverson, all of Delaware; and Joyce (Ray) Kramer of Colorado.

Maurina/Community Funeral Homes assisted the family with arrangements.
