THORP -- Mary E. Mickett, 91, formerly of Thorp, died at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, in the presence of her daughter, Dorothy.

Funeral services are pending and will be held at the Thorp Funeral Home. The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

Mary Mickett

Mary E. Mickett, 91, formerly of Thorp, died at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at the Thorp Funeral Home. Burial will follow in St. Hedwig's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.

The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

Mary was born on March 11, 1916, in Gallup, New Mexico, the daughter of Matthew and Kathryn (Briski) Bolf. She married William Mickett on Oct. 18, 1933.

She is survived by her children, Alice (Claude) Benzschawel of Thorp, Beverly (Eugene) Benzschawel of Thorp, William (Mildred) Mickett Jr. of Stanley, Dorothy Point of Pardeeville and Robert (Nancy) Mickett of Greenwood; her brother, John (Rita) Bolf of Chicago; and two sisters, Ann Nalezny of Chicago and Dolores (William) Benzschawel of Owen, Wisconsin.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Columbia Health Care Center, 323 W. Monroe, Wyocena WI 53969.

THORP -- Mary E. Mickett, 91, formerly of Thorp, died at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, in the presence of her daughter, Dorothy.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Thorp Funeral Home, 110 W. School St., Thorp. Burial will follow in St. Hedwig's Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

The Pflanz Mantey Mendrala Funeral Home in Portage is assisting the family.

Mary was born March 11, 1916, in Gallup, New Mexico, the daughter of Matthew and Kathryn (Briski) Bolf. She was married Oct. 18, 1933, at St. Hedwig's Church in Thorp, to William Mickett Sr., who preceded her in death April 29, 1993. They lived and farmed in the Greenwood area until 1988, when they retired and moved to Thorp.

Mary had lived at Morgan Plaza Retirement Center in Thorp. She then lived with her daughter, Dorothy, in Pardeeville for seven years, and at the Columbia Health Care Center in Wyocena until she passed away. She loved dancing, especially polka, and going to the casino.

She is survived by her children, Alice (Claude) Benzschawel of Thorp, Beverly (Eugene) Benzschawel of Thorp, William (Mildred) Mickett Jr. of Stanley, Dorothy Piont of Pardeeville, and Robert (Nancy) Mickett of Greenwood; her brother, John (Rita) Bolf of Chicago; two sisters, Ann Nalezny of Chicago and Dolores (William) Benzschawel of Owen; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson, Keith Benzschawel; three brothers, Anthony, Matthew and Michael; her sister, Kathryn; her sister and brother-in-law, Frances and Stanley Zabski; and her son-in-law, Frank Piont.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Columbia Health Care Center, 323 W. Monroe, Wyocena WI 53969.
