Kading, Dorine Lena (Marriage - 11 July 1942)

Miss Dorine Lena Kading, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Kading of Sheboygan, became the bride of LaVern E. Koeppen, son of Mr. and Mrs. Otto Koeppen of Colby, at a ceremony performed at St. Mark’s Lutheran church at Sheboygan, Rev. W. E. Szamanske officiating, on Saturday afternoon, July 11, at 3:00 o’clock.

For her marriage the bride chose a floor-length gown of white marquisette fashioned with shirred bodice, sweetheart neckline and full skirt. Her long veil was held in place with a heart-shaped coronet. She carried a shower bouquet of lilies and pink and white roses.

Miss Marion Hilbert was maid of honor and she wore a blue velveray princess style dress with sweetheart neckline and matching sweetheart hat. Her bouquet consisted of yellow roses and blue delphiniums.

The bride’s young sister, Phyllis Jean, served as flower girl and wore a pink satin floor-length frock and carried a colonial bouquet of mixed flowers.

Roger Kobs of Colby was best man.

A six o’clock dinner was served to the immediate families at the bride’s home which was nicely decorated with white streamers and bells. Later in the evening, a reception and dance were held at Pleasant Hall which was attended by about 100 guests.

Before her marriage the bride attended Central High School at Sheboygan and was employed by the Handknit Hosiery Co. at Sheboygan for the past two months. Mr. and Mrs. Koeppen will make their home on the farm of the groom’s parents west of Colby, Wis.

Among the out of town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Lester Kading and family, Mrs. Emil Kading, Mr. and Mrs. Otto Koeppen and family, Mrs. Ernest Podevels and son, Harold, Roger Kobs, all of Colby, and Mrs. Herbert Wink and daughter, Shirley, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Wink of Milwaukee.
