Sorenson, Thomas R. (February 18, 1938 - October 4, 2007)

Thomas R. Sorenson, age 69, went to his eternal home on October 4, 2007, surrounded by his loving family.

He was born February 18, 1938, in Wautoma, WI, to Thomas and Torney (Stea) Sorenson. Thomas grew up in Wild Rose, WI and graduated from Wild Rose High School in 1956.

He married Patricia Kuhn in Port Edwards, WI, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in April 1966. Thomas was employed by Georgia Pacific in Port Edwards for 30 years until retirement in 1993. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and stock car racing. He also loved to make wood, leather and CD creations.

His entire life centered on his wife, children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his many friends who loved and accepted him for what he was, a Norwegian with a soft heart and a gift to gab.

In addition to his living wife, Pat, he is survived by two children, Wayne (Kim) Sorenson, of Stevens Point, WI, and Ronald (Brenda) Sorenson, of Longmont, CO, and five very special grandchildren; Chastity, PattiAnne, Justin, Mathew and Joshua. He also is survived by one sister, Joyce Hadden, of Arcadia, FL; sisters-in-law Jeanette Sorenson, of Stevens Point; Elaine Boyce of Wautoma; several nieces and nephews, dear friends in both Wisconsin and Colorado; and a special little friend, Poopsie.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Marvin Sorenson.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, November 23, at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church in Wisconsin Rapids, WI. Those attending are welcome to dress casual.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred.
