Kesler, Lorraine J. (Marriage - 6 Sept. 1941)

Immediate relatives and friends attended the Saturday morning wedding of Miss Lorraine J. Kesler, daughter of Mrs. Rose Kesler of Colby, Wis., and William H. Schacht, of Wisconsin Rapids. The Rev. Leo J. Lang read the rites at St. Mary’s Catholic church in Colby at 7:30 o’clock, and St. Mary’s School Choir furnished the nuptial music. The bride has been employed at Miladys Beauty Shop in Marshfield for the past two and one-half years.

White faille cloth fashioned the bride’s gown, which extended into a long train and had tight fitting sleeves ending in points over her hands. A redingote of lace with a lace Queen Elizabeth collar completed her attire. A seed pearl halo in open-work design held her long white veil, and roses, sweet peas, and asters comprised her bouquet. Miss Anita Kesler, sister of the bride, wore a Spanish raisin gown of faille cloth cut on princess lines, and carried a bouquet similar to that carried by the bride. James Schacht, brother of the groom, was best man. The bride’s twin nephews acted as Mass servers.

Cut flowers and blue and white streamers decorated the home of the bride’s parents, where a wedding breakfast was served after the church ceremony. The bridal couple left on a wedding trip to northern Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Mrs. Schacht is a graduate of the Colby, Wis. High School and the Wisconsin Academy of Beauty Culture in Milwaukee. The groom is employed as a papermaker in Wisconsin Rapids, and the couple will make their home in that city after October 1st.

Out-of-town guestss at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schacht, sons, James, Charles, and Donald, and daughter, Donna, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Kesler and son, Roger, Wisconsin Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Leon Oliver Kesler, Greenwood, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kesler, sons, Harold and Herbert and daughters, Eileen, Vivian, and Merilyn, Marshfield; Miss Anita Kesler, Milwaukee.
