Legault, Valerie Aurora #2 (13 FEB 1871 - 9 SEP 1939)

The kind loving soul of Mrs. A.H. Legault, age 68 years, 6 months and 24 days, departed from this earthly world Saturday, Sept. 9, 1939, when her resistance failed to withstand the effects of a stroke suffered the latter part of the previous week. For the past two years she has been quite active in every day life despite the fact that she was bothered with an ailing and weak heart.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday morning, Sept. 12, at the Holy Rosary Church where a Requiem High Mass service was celebrated with Rev. Father Brady as celebrant; Rev. Father Weller as deacon; and Rev. Father Novak as sub-deacon. Interment was made in the Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) Cemetery.

Mrs. Alderich Henry Legault, nee Valerie Aurora Hebert, was born on Feb. 13, 1871, at St. Johns, Canada. She lived the first nine years of her girlhood at St. Johns before moving to the United States with her parents, when they settled on a farm near Unity in 1880. Five years later the family moved to Withee (Clark Co.) and while residing there she met and married her husband, Alderich Henry Legault on Sept. 26, 1886. The couple made their home on a farm in the Town of Longwood, where they prosperously lived until 1919, at which time they moved to Loyal where they made their home for ten years, until 1929, when they moved to Owen where she has ever since made her home.

She was the devoted mother of a family of six children, two sons, Leo H., deceased, and Geroge A. of Owen; and daughters, Mrs. E.J. (Della) Regan of Chicago, Mrs. H.B. (Marcia) Palms of Menomonie, Mrs. A.C. (Mae) Buker of Greenwood, and Mrs. E.J. (Esther) Etta of Medford.

Pallbearers at the service were W.K. Doonan, V.F. Shereda, C.M. Halverson, Leo Meyer, Ed Buker and Archie Thiebert.
