Woodford, Sarah (11 Aug. 1875 - 17 May 1941)

Sarah McCarthy Woodford, a former resident of Colby, died on May 17th at the Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire at the age of 65 years, nine months and six days. She was a daughter of W. H. and E. A. McCarthy who resided here until their death.

The deceased was born in Palmyra on August 11th, 1875, and came to Colby with her parents and sisters in 1877. Colby was her home until she moved to Eau Claire. In Dec. 1893, she was united in marriage to Arthur W. Collins of this city. To this union three children were born - Mrs. Givsey of Missonta, Mont., Mrs. Perdy of Eau Claire and Glenn of Seattle, Wash. They with her husband, Sidney Woodford, and their adopted daughter, Mrs. Divis Gaine, her twin sister, Margaret Ruppert, and her sister, Tillie McEachern of Kamack, Can., and ten grand children are left to mourn her departure.

Funeral services were held May 20 at Genmark’s funeral parlor, Rev. Dean Holden, pastor of the Episcopal church officiating, and burial was made in Hillcrest cemetery.
