Thorn, Florence M. (Marriage - 31 Jan. 1941)

The marriage of Miss Florence M. Thorn, daughter of Mrs. Rose Thorn of Colby, to Clarence Weetz, son of Mrs. Emma Weetz of Abbotsford, Wis., took place Friday evening at 7:00 o’clock at the rectory of St. Mary’s Catholic church at Colby, Rev. L. J. Lang performing the ceremony.

The bride was attired in a dress of powder blue with matching accessories and the matron of honor, Mrs. Kenneth Olstinski of Marshfield, a sister of the bride, was attired in aqua blue. Alois Gabriel was best man.

An informal reception for 50 guests followed at the home of the bride’s mother. The out of town guests included Mr. and Mrs. John Brill of Cherokee, Mrs. Emma Weetz, Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Bitters and sons, Miss Audrey Goldamer and Harold Christensen of Abbotsford and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Olstinski of Marshfield.

The young couple departed for a visit at Winona, Minn.

The bride is a graduate of the Colby, Wis. High School and of the Teachers’ Training School at Wausau, Wis. She is teaching in the Hixon School in the town of Holton.
