King, Martha V. (30 Nov. 1907 - 19 Feb. 2004)

Martha V King, 96, of Coloma, died on Feb. 19, 2004 at Wild Rose Manor. She was born on Nov. 30, 1907 in Chili the daughter of Louis and Bertha (Nebel) Schilling. She married Walter G. King on June 9, 1926. He preceded her in death on Dec. 29, 1993.

She and her late husband operated the former King's Corner Grocery Store in Coloma for many years until her retirement in 1967. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Coloma. Martha taught Sunday school and served as pianist at church for some time.

She is survived by two sons, Walter "Wally" (Fern) King Coloma, and Floyd (the late Helen) King, Coloma; six grandchildren, Scott (Marilyn) King, Hancock, Brenda (Daniel) Hansen, Waupaca, Randy (Diane) Hansen, Waupaca, Randy (Diane) King, McFarland, Becky (Dave) Norman, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, Mitchell (fiancé Rose) King, Colorado Springs, CO, Vicki (Gerry) Adams, Coloma; four great grandchildren; one sister, Ruth Bandt, Neillsville; one brother-in-law, Darwin (Esther) King, Coloma; two sisters-in-law, Edith Schilling, Marshfield, and Dorothy King, Juneau.

She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Ezra and Ferdinand; three sisters, Bertha, Esther, and Lizzie; and her daughter-in-law, Helen King.

Funeral services were held on Mon, Feb. 23, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Calvary United Methodist Church in Coloma with the Rev. Dr. Rick Brown officiating. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Coloma.

Visitation was held on Sunday at the church from 2-4 p.m. and on Mon. from 10 a.m. until the time of services. The Leikness Funeral Home, Wautoma, assisted the family with arrangements.
