Helen F. Stumpner, 94, Loyal, died at the Chippewa Manor Nursing Home on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2007. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., on Monday, Oct. 1, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal. The Rev. Roman Kaiser officiated. Burial was in the Loyal Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Stumpner, Ed Stumpner, Mark Stumpner, John Stumpner, Jim Stumpner and Joe Pachal.

Helen Frances Daum was born on July 9, 1913, in Menasha, to Paul and Frances (nee Cherney) Daum. Her family moved to New Holstein in 1918, and resided there until moving to a farm in Manville, in 1922. She completed her education at the Manville School. She married Arnold Stumpner on Nov. 14, 1935, at St. John’s Catholic Church, Marshfield. They moved to Waupaca for a short time, and then moved to Loyal in October of 1936, to take over the operation of her husband’s family farm. They lived on the farm until August 1977, at which time they moved to Loyal. She also worked in the kitchen for the Loyal School District for several years. Her husband, Arnold died on Feb. 18, 1990. She resided in Loyal until entering Chippewa Manor in September 2006. She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and had many interests, including gardening, playing cards, Atlanta Braves baseball, and collecting recipes.

Survivors include six children, John (Pat) Stumpner, Big Bend, George (Pat) Stumpner, Loyal, Virginia (Dale) Johnson, Eau Claire, Rita (Milt) Pachal, Wausau, Charles (Ione) Stumpner, Eau Claire, and Thomas (Linda) Stumpner, Fox Lake; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Arnold; two sisters, Marcella Bloczynski and Rose Schubert; and one brother, John "Bud" Daum.

Cuddie Funeral Home, Loyal, assisted the family with arrangements.
