Saturday, Nov. 14, marked the 72nd birthday anniversary of Mrs. Myrtle Maxwell. To Mrs. Maxwell, the events of that day were not far removed from those of any other day, except for the congratuatliosn and other special attention of her relatives and friends. When asked if she were celebrating, Mrs. Maxwell answered: "No, just baking bread."
It was 57 yeats ago that Mrs. Maxwell came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Neff, to the home of her uncle., Albertes Neff, who lived on the farm now owned by a nephew, Charlie Neff.
The Dan Neff family came by train to Hatfield, making the balance of the trip by stage-coach. Later they purchased the farm now known as the Munson farm where they conducted a store and post office, Mrs. Neff havinb been the postmistress at that point for twenty years.
