Jackson, Orvin T. (17 Mar. 1926 - 28 July 2006)

EDGERTON - Orvin T. Jackson, 80, of Edgerton, passed away Friday, July 28, 2006 at Haven House in Janesville. He was born March 17, 1926 in Withee, WI, the son of the late Tobert and Emma (Bragstad) Jackson. Orvin served his country during World War II in the Navy. Orv married Laura Lee Staude Feb. 19, 1952 in Yuma, AZ. Orv worked in the paint repair shop for General Motors in Janesville, WI.

He was a member of the Edgerton Lodge 69 of the Masonic Temple and served as Master several times, Zor Shrine, and Zor Shrine Mini Cars. Past Patron of the Eastern Star, and helped organize field trips for Edgerton students to the Zor Shrine Circus in Madison, WI. Orv loved to do woodworking, and gave away many of his works to the needy children in Rock County.

Orvin is survived by his 2 sons, Roger (Sally) Jackson of Edgerton, and Rick (Janet) Jackson of Janesville, WI; 2 daughters, Randy (Greg) Hanson and Rebecca (Rick) Wietersen, both of Edgerton, WI; grandchildren: Jeriamy (Dani) Jackson, Joshua (Lisa) Jackson, Erik Jackson and Matthew Jackson, Craig Holman, Kelly (Victor) Holman, Lauren Wietersen and Reed Wietersen; great-grandchildren, Abigail Lynn Torres and Hayden Grace Jackson; sister, Audrey Thiel of Michigan; and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents; Orvin was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Lee; and a sister, Claudine Schwerm.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at Central Lutheran Church , with Pastor James Johnson officiating. Burial with full Military Rites will be in Fassett Cemetery. Visitation time will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Monday at the Whitcomb-Lynch-Albrecht Funeral Home, Edgerton with a Masonic Service at 6:30 p.m., and from 10:00 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the church.
