Wyman, William (23 Mar. 1923 - 30 Mar. 2004)

KEWAUNEE - William "Bill" Wyman, 81, of Kewaunee and formerly from Cape Coral, Fla., passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2004, after a brief illness.

Friends may call at Buchanan Funeral Home, 1425 Ellis St., Kewaunee, after 9 a.m. Saturday, April 17, until time of service. A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 17, at Buchanan Funeral Home.

He was born March 23, 1923, in Granton, Wisconsin, to the late Wayne and Edna (Brandt) Wyman. Bill graduated from Spencer High School in 1941. After graduation, he joined the U.S. Army, where he proudly served his country during World War II as a member of the 496th AAA Gun Battalion.

On April 12, 1947, he married his high school sweetheart, Ermine "Mickie" Cramer. He and Mickie owned and operated Bill's Red Owl in Abbotsford, Spencer and Kewaunee, and Wyman's Skogmo clothing store in Kewaunee before retiring to Cape Coral in 1984. Bill enjoyed his retirement as an active member of Abiding Love Lutheran Church in Cape Coral, where he served as president of the men's club and organizer of the church food pantry. He was also an avid gardener and loved caring for his beautiful yard and fruit trees. He took every opportunity to tell jokes and loved to make people laugh. In his younger days, he also enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and playing bridge.

Bill is survived by his five children, Wynn (Jan) Wyman of Elmhurst, Ill., Tim (Lorry) Wyman of West Chicago, Ill., Terri (Joe) Kohlbeck of Kewaunee, Jody (Steve) Gee of McHenry, Ill., and Gayle (Kurt) Ullmer of DePere; six grandchildren, Tysyn and Eric Wyman, Kendyl Wyman, Layla and Sally Gee, Rachel (Chad) Monfils, and two step-grandchildren, David Reimann and Keifer Kohlbeck, and many other relatives and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife Mickie, one brother, Robert Wyman Sr., and one sister, Lorrayne Naniot.

The Wyman family would like to thank Dr. Greer and the other doctors and staff of Bellin Hospital Cardiac Advanced care unit and 2nd Floor medical, and Unity Hospice for all their wonderful care and kindness given to Bill and the family, as well as all relatives and friends for their prayers and support.
