Czubin, Edward (19 JUL 1919 - 16 MAR 1939)

The entire community was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Edward Czubin, which occurred at the Marshfield Hospital, March 16, 1939.

He was taken suddenly ill Monday forenoon and a doctor diagnosed his case as ulcers of the stomach, which demanded immediate operation. He was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital at Marshfield and operated upon that evening, but his condition was such that the operation was of no avail and he passed away Thursday morning.

Eddie was born at Weyerhauser on July 19, 1919, and came here (Owen, Clark Co., Wis.) when but a small child, and grew to manhood on their farm two and a half miles west of Withee.

He leaves to mourn his loss, his father and one brother, Harry, and a sister, Mrs. Rose Glenzer of Stevens Point. One brother, Stanley, and his mother, preceded him in death some years ago.

Funeral services were held at the Griebenow-Weirich Funeral Home Saturday, March 18, Rev. Father Brady officiating. Interment was made at the Riverside Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Louis Rogalski, Herman Doege Jr., Edward Miller, Theodore Geiger, Elmer Baehr and Ovie Hauschildt.

The many floral tributes were carried by the Misses Cecelia Koplitz, Myrtice Koplitz, Ina Baehr and Gertrude Baehr.

Relatives and friends from away who attended the last rites were John Biaton, Mrs. Albert Czubin of Minneapolis, Mrs. Rose Glenzer and Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Miller of Stevens Point, Walter Zarda, Andrew Zwaska, and John Cyscon of Weyerhauser, and many friends from Curtiss and surrounding vicinity.
