Laabs, Alfred (04 Sept. 1932 - 13 Aug. 2007)

Alfred Laabs, 74, Colby, died Monday, August 13th, 2007, at InnCare of Abbotsford, Wis.

Memorial services were held August 18th at Maurina Funeral Home, Abbotsford, Wis. Reverend Mark Schwinn presided and interment was in Colby Memorial Cemetery.

Alfred was born September 4th, 1932 in Milan to Albert and Alvina (Awe) Laabs. He attended country schools and Owen High School.

He and Harriet Gosse were married November 29th, 1952. The farmed in the Owen area and moved to the city of Colby in 1994. He enjoyed polka dancing.

Alfred is survived by his wife, Harriet, Colby; one daughter Nancy (Thomas) Anen, Wisconsin Dells; two sons, David (Jane) Laabs, Owen, and Brian (Alison) Laabs, Eau Claire; four grandchildren; two brothers, Milton (Yolanda) Laabs, Gillet and Marlyn (Pricilla) Laabs, Marshfield; two sisters, Jeanette Geffree, Minneapolis and Joanne Laabs, Thorp.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Alton.

Maurina-Community Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
