DuVall, Pearl (Marriage - 10 Sept. 1938)

A very pretty wedding was solemnized at St. Mary’s Catholic church Saturday morning at 8:00 A.M., Rev. L. J. Lang performing the ceremony, when Miss Pearl DuVall, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank DuVall of Unity, became the bride of Mr. Virgil Frane, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Frane of Colby. The altar was decorated with bouquets of hydrangeas. Miss Evelyn DuVall of Marshfield, cousin of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and Miss Helen DuVall of Marshfield, also a cousin of the bride, was maid of honor. The groom was attended by his cousin, Patrick Philippi, of Marshfield and his brother, John Frane of Colby.

The bride was attired in a beautiful fitted gown of white satin with a train and leg-o’ mutton sleeves with pointed wrist. Her finger tip veil was held in place with a halo of orange blossoms. She wore a spray of daisies on her wrist and carried a prayer book from which hung blossoms tied to white satin streamers. The bridesmaid wore a dress of peach colored satin with shirred sleeves and flounces on skirt. The maid of honor wore a dress of blue satin, same style as the bridesmaid’s. The bridesmaid and maid of honor each wore shoulder-length veils, with the color of their gowns, held in place with wreaths to match. Each carried a prayer book.

A wedding breakfast was served immediate relatives at the Hotel Robinson. After a wedding trip through Northern Wisconsin, the young couple will reside in Colby.
