Giese, Lucille Grace (December 29, 1922 - September 4, 2007)

Lucille G. Giese, 84, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at Pine View Care Center, Black River Falls, where she had been a resident since February of 2005.

Lucille Grace Michael was born December 29, 1922, in Mentor Township, (Clark County), the only child of Oswald and Elsie (Terrell) Michael. She graduated from Humbird High School in 1943. She was employed at the Humbird Canning Factory prior to her marriage.

She married Ervin A. Giese June 8, 1944, in Alma Center. Lucille and Ervin dairy farmed in Garden Valley, west of Alma Center, until their retirement. Ervin preceded her in death September 24, 2000.

Lucy was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Alma Center, and was active in the Women of Grace Lutheran Church. She enjoyed cooking and baking for family and friends and canning the produce that she grew in her vegetable gardens. She also enjoyed doing embroidery work and traveling.

Lucille is survived by her son, Michael (Mary) Giese of Alma Center; her daughter, Linda Giese-Moseley of Osseo; five grandchildren, Spencer, Graham, Grant, Rachel and Kaden; besides other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ervin, September 24, 2000, and by her son-in-law, Fredric Moseley, June 18, 2005.

Funeral services for Lucille G. Geise were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, September 8, 2007, at Grace Lutheran Church, Alma Center, with Reverend Steven Stork officiating. Burial took place in East Lawn Cemetery, Alma Center. Friends called at the Jensen-Modjeski Funeral Home, Hixton, on Friday from 5 p.m. go 8 p.m. and one hour prior to services at the church.

Casket Bearers were: Gary Alexander, Emil Giese, Graham Giese, Grant Giese, Paul Giese and Larry Nelson. Honorary bearers were Kaden and Rachel Moseley and Spencer Giese.
