Millikan, Edward J. (16 FEB 1900 - 23 DEC 1937)

Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon for Edward James Millikan, 37, who died at the Medford hospital, Dec. 23, 1937, as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning and pneumonia. Burial took place at Riverside Cemetery, Withee, the Rev. James LeCount officiating.

Mr. Millikan was born at Halfday, Ill., on Feb. 16, 1900, and had been a resident of Taylor County for 27 years. He was married at Little Black in 1926 to Lois Taylor, who, with five children, survives him. The children are Lucille, Lorraine, Clarence, Frances, and Joyce, all at home.

Mr. Millikan had been engaged as an automobile mechanic for the past ten years.

He is also survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. O. A. Millikan, and by four brothers, George, Withee; William and James, Owen; and Gilbert of Isabella, Pa.; and by one sister, Mrs. Marie Korth, Kornick, Iowa. Another sister died 11 years ago.

Pallbearers at the funeral were Albert and E. Blasel, Henry Schlais, Otto Handel, Albert Wagner, and Richard Streibig. Flowers were cared for by Evelyn, Dorothy and Myrtle Taylor, and Rachel Bull.
