Stock, Erna (Marriage - 25 June 1936)

A very pretty wedding took place at Zion Lutheran church Thursday afternoon at 2:30, Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Erna Stock became the bride of Mr. Arthur Wiersig at a double ring ceremony. The altar was nicely adorned with cut flowers, Miss Eveline Wiersig was maid of honor and the Misses Erma Wiersig and Gertrude Stock were bridesmaids. The groom was attended by Herbert Stock, brother of the bride, as best man and Norman Kobs and Harvey Marx. Little Beverly Ann Hauser was flower girl.

The bride was attired in a beautiful gown of white satin with long train and long tulle veil arranged in cap effect. She carried a bouquet of white roses. Her attendants wore pretty ankle length dresses of yellow silk lace and metallic headbands. Their bouquets consisted of mixed flowers. The flower girl was dressed in white satin and carried a basket of sweet peas.

A reception was held for relatives at St. John’s hall, covers being laid for 125. The hall was nicely decorated with yellow and white streamers and cut flowers.

Mr. Wiersig is a graduate of Colby, Wis. High school and has been in the ice business in Colby the past several years. The newlyweds will reside at the bride’s home in the town of Colby.

Out of town guests were Mrs. Pauline Clark and daughter, Mildred, of Boyd, Wis., Mrs. Lena Goeke and Mr. and Mrs. William Goeke and family of Greenwood, Mr. August Stock and Mr. and Mrs. Christ Stock of Manitowoc, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Julius Wiersig of Abbotsford, Miss Selma Wiersig and Miss Lorinda Parsch of Wausau, Wis.
