Ryan, Lucy (8 June 1879 - 5 Dec. 1950)

Loyal - Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Ryan, 71, Loyal, who died at her home Tuesday at 6 p.m. after suffering a heart attack, will be held Saturday morning at 9 o’clock.

The Rev. Norbert King will officiate and burial will be made in the parish cemetery. The body is reposing at the Myre Funeral Home.

Mrs. Ryan, nee Lucy McGrath, was born Oct. 19, 1879, at Waupun. She received her education in the Waupun schools.

On June 8, 1897, she was married to John Ryan at Waupun and moved to Randolph, where they lived until 1910. They lived at Cambria from 1910 until 1918 when they moved to a farm on the outskirts of Loyal, where she had made her home ever since.

Her husband preceded her in death March 4, 1946. Mrs. Ryan was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and of the Altar Society.

She is survived by 12 children, Mrs. Tony (Grace) Klimmer, Loyal; Mrs. Edward (Nellie) Searvogel, Loyal; James, Randolph; Charles, Wauconda, Ill.; William, Merrill; Mrs. Arthur (Margaret) Searvogel, Randolph; Mrs. Bernard (Rosetta) Beaver, Randolph; Mrs. Henry (LaVerne) Degenhardt, Randolph; Henry, Gladys, Lawrence, at home; Mrs. Wilder (Isabel) Kennow, Wausau; 42 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

One brother, Robert McGrath, Waupun; and two sisters, Mrs. Johanna Madigan, Beaver Dam; and Mrs. Mary Sloper, Waupun, also survive.

A brother preceded her in death.
