Witt, Evelyn (16 AUG 1938)

Miss Evelyn Witt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Witt, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), became the bride of Mr. Claybourne Bogumill, son of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Bogumill of this village, at a beautiful wedding ceremony at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church here at 9:00 o’clock on Tuesday morning, Aug. 16th, 1938. The Rev. A.M. Muckerheide performed the ceremony.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. She was attired in a gown of white moiré taffeta with a long trail, waist length veil, and carried a colonial bouquet of gardenias and lilies of the valley. She was attended by Lorraine Witt, her sister, as maid of honor, who was attired in a beautiful gown of Tuscan. Bridesmaids were: Eileen Bogumill, Ann Bogumill, Eva Morgan and Vivian Witt, who were dressed in gowns of aqua.

The groom was attended by Delton Ebben as best man. Ushers were: Dean Lawrence, Dale Stone and Stanley Manicki, attired in tuxedos.

A wedding breakfast was served to the bride and groom and relatives at the Soo Hotel. A large host of friends and relatives attending the wedding dance at Mileaway in the evening.

The happy couple will be at home to their many friends after September first when they will return to Thorp, where the groom is employed in The Farmers Store.
