Bailey, George W. (28 OCT 1867 - 31 JUL 1938)

George W. Bailey, died at his home at No. 143 Vernon Drive, Upland, Calif., on Sunday, July 31, 1938, following a paralytic stroke suffered the preceding Friday. The funeral was held on Tuesday, Aug. 2nd. Deceased is survived by his wife, four step-children, an uncle, S.S. Warner of Thorp, and a number of relatives at Eidsvold and Jump River.

George W. Bailey was born at Redwood, Jefferson Co., N.Y., October 28, 1867, and grew to manhood there. After attaining manhood he came to Wisconsin and for a number of years made his home with his uncle, S.S. Warner at Eidsvold. While residing in this locality he worked in harness shops at Thorp, Eidsvold, Stanley, Boyd, and Ladysmith. Also for a time at Elroy, Wis.

He was married at Ladysmith, about fifteen years ago moved with his family to Upland, Calif., which has since been his home. He was a member of the Thorp Camp Sons of Union Veterans, while living here.
