Birkett, Esther B. (14 AUG 1920 - 27 JUN 1938)

Esther Bernice Birkett was born Aug. 14, 1920, in the town of Reseburg Clark County, Wis., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilmer Birkett and passed away at the Victory Hospital at Stanley, June 27, 1938, at 7:15 a.m., of pneumonia, having reached the age of seventeen years, eleven months and thirteen days. She graduated from the Thorp High School with the class of 1937.

Those who mourn her untimely death, besides her father and mother, are two sisters, Mrs. Al Knapton of Madison, and Blanche at home, and three brothers, Willis of Blue Mounds, Wayne and Donald, at home, also three grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Haas of Mineral Point, and Mr. George Birkett of River Falls; also three aunts and three uncles.

Funeral services were conducted Thursday at 2 p.m. at the house by Rev. Carl Berry and interment was made in Riverside Cemetery.

Those who attended the funeral from out of town were, Mrs. and Mrs. George Haas and Mrs. Theodore Godfrey of Mineral Point; Fred Haas and daughter Ruth of Dodgeville; Willis Birkett of Blue Mounds; Mr. and Mrs. Al Knapton, Mr. and Mrs. Alex Williams, Mrs. Calmer Brown and Mrs. Walter Williams, of Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Matt Birkett and sons Elmer and George of Baldwin; George Birkett of River Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Birkett and daughter Shirley of Arcadia; Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Haas, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Haas and son, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Haas and five sons, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Luraas, Mr. and Mrs. Pierce Owens and daughter and son, and Mrs. Tobias Thorson, of Withee; Mr. and Mrs. Orville Radley and three daughters, and Mrs. Louisa Owens of Owen; Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Owens of Loyal.
