Baker, Imogene (14 JUN 1938)

Leo Oberle, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Oberle of this village (Thorp, Clark Co., Wis.), and Miss Imogene Baker, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Baker of Stanley, were joined in the bonds of holy matrimony by Rev. Francis Wallace on Tuesday morning, June 14th, 1938, at nine o’clock, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church at Stanley, Wis. They were attended by Aug. Oberle, as best man, and Rita Baker, sister of the bride, as maid of honor, who wore a pink lace dress and carried a bouquet of flowers. Earl Baker and Rachel Schmidt were the second attending couple and the bridesmaid wore a blue moiré taffeta dress and carried a bouquet of pink flowers.

The bride was beautifully attired in a gown of white satin with train and finger tipped veil. Her bouquet was of white roses and sweet peas.

A reception was held after the ceremony at the home of the bride’s sister, Mrs. Cecil Wry, in Eidsvold, and a wedding dance was given in the American Legion Hall at Thorp in the evening. The couple left the following day for a wedding trip in Minnesota.

They will reside in Thorp where the groom is employed at the Thorp Dairy Co. plant.
