Howard, Deloris (Marriage - 7 March 1942)

Miss Deloris Howard, daughter of Mrs. Mathilda Howard, 1006 North Chicago Avenue, South Milwaukee, became the bride of Darwin DeMert, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter DeMert, of Neillsville, R. F. D. 3.

The marriage ceremony took place Saturday, March 7th, 1942, at two p.m., at St. John’s Lutheran parsonage, Neillsville, Wis. Rev. William A. Baumann officiating in a double ring ceremony. The attendants were Eilean Carl and Herman Carl.

The bride wore a beige dress pleated York and three-quarter length sleeves, the skirt being styled with a gored front. A row of buttons extended from the neckline to the bottom of the skirt. Her accessories were brown. Pink roses, white carnations and babysbreath were combined in her flowers. She wore a gold and white locket which was a gift from the groom.

Miss Carl wore a gown of Pink crepe. Her flowers were pink and white carnations and babysbreath.

Following the ceremony a wedding reception was held at the home of the groom’s parents for twenty immediate relatives and friends.

Mrs. DeMert was graduated from the South Milwaukee high school in 1940, having been employed since then with the Line Material Company. Her husband was graduated the same year from the Neillsville High School. He has been employed in a defense plant in Milwaukee.
