Baumgartner, Jacob (1873? - 1942)

Baumgartner Rites Held in Humbird

Funeral services were held for Jacob Baumgartner Friday afternoon at St. John’s Church.

Mr. Baumgartner died Tuesday at 69, at the home of his only child, Mrs. John Grieb, who cared for him during his long illness.

He was born in Switzerland and married Elizabeth Deuer, who died a few years ago. Mr. Baumgartner was a respected citizen, engaged in farming on the place now owned by the chairman, Mr. Max Schenk. Later Mr. Baumgartner bought a house in the village and worked for many years in the Humbird Canning Co. He retired a few years ago.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. John Grieb; grandson, Louis Grieb, and a brother, Matt, of Greenwood.

Additional note: Spelling corrections: Grieb should be Greub; Deuer should be Duerr; provided by: Mrs. Louis J. Greub, Email: b.greub419@pressenter.com
