Bogumill, Mary (8 SEP 1861 - 21 FEB 1938)

Mrs. Mary Bogumill, aged 76, wife of the late Andrew Bogumill, passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Chippewa Falls, at 3:45 a.m., Monday morning. The funeral will be held Thursday morning at St. Hedwig’s Church at ten o’clock. The body lies in state at the Bogumill Funeral Home. An obituary will be published next week.

Mrs. Andrew Bogumill died of old age infirmities at St. Joseph’s Hospital at Chippewa Falls on Feb. 21st, 1937, having reached the age of seventy-six years, five months and thirteen days.

Mary Skrzypinski was born in Poland on Sept. 8, 1861. In April 1881 she was united in marriage to Andrew Bogumill, the couple coming to America the same year, first locating in Pennsylvania. They later resided in Illinois and in October 1900, came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), locating on a farm 1 ½ miles northeast, where Mrs. Bogumill resided until the death of her husband, eighteen years ago, when she moved to this village.

Relatives surviving are four sons, John G. of Thorp; William of Compton, California; Louis of Cadott, Wis.; and Peter of Rib Lake; five daughters, Josephine Murray, Bird Island, Minn.; Julia Hemerick, Madelia, Minn.; Mae Artabasy, Winnetka, Ill.; Helen Neiman, Franksville, Wis.; and Doris Krakowiecki, Lublin; and one brother, Casper Skrzypinski of Thorp.

The Rev. F.A. Kulig officiated at the funeral services, which were held at St. Hedwig’s Church on Thursday morning and burial was made in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: Woj. Bonk, St. Mazurek, Florian Anyziewski, Theo. Stroinski, Jacob Niedzwicki, and Anton Papierniak.
