Struensee, Joey Edward (February 7, 1969 - August 10, 2007)

Joey Struensee, age 38, of Colonial Beach, Virginia died Friday, August 10, 2007 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Maryland.

Joey Edward Struensee was born on February 7, 1969 in Marshfield, the son of Warren and Ramona (Peterson) Struensee. He attended Neillsville Public Schools and graduated in 1987. After his schooling, Joey worked in the Neillsville area where he ran an Amish milk route, serving the Augusta area. After his mother’s death in 2004, Joey moved to Virginia and worked for James Abel at Abel Construction as their mechanic and operating heavy equipment.

Joey was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church. He was an avid sportsman who loved the outdoors. He loved playing pool, snowmobiling, ATV-ing and tinkering in the garage.

He is survived by his parents, Warren and Mary Jane Struensee, of Neillsville; two brothers, Steven (Amanda) Struensee, of Neillsville, and their children, Cody, Jennifer and Cade; and Mark (Amy) Michalski, of Carol Stream, Il, and their children, Aaron, Jordan and Peyton; a sister, Melody (Keith) Clemens, of Chili, and their children, Maddison and Luke; and a brother-in-law, Andy Kalischefski, of Huntley, Il and his children, Taylor, Kaitlyn and Grace.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ramona; a brother, Scott; and a sister, Melissa Kalischefski.

Funeral services for Joey will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 18, 2007 at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville, Wis. Pastor James Gordon will officiate. Music will be provided by Jodi Rueth. Interment will be in the Dells Dam Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 9 p.m., Friday at the Gesche Funeral Home and from 9:30 until service time Saturday at the Church.

Casket Bearers are; Dean Hainz, Mike McDonald, Scott Hale, Cody Struensee, Mark Michalski, James Abel and Marvin Loken.

The Gesche Funeral Home is assisting Joey’s family with funeral arrangements.
