Wagner, Joseph (2 OCT 1879 - 28 JUN 1937)

Joseph Wagner, 57, died at the hospital at Stanley, Wis., Monday morning, June 28th, 1937, of blood poisoning, the result of a scratch on his arm. He entered the hospital on Sunday evening.

Deceased was born in Manitowoc County on Oct. 2, 1879. He lost his leg when still a young man, but despite this handicap, was engaged in farming nearly all his life, being located at the time of death, with his brother, William, on a farm three miles south of Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.).

Surviving relatives are two brothers, William of Thorp and George of Wenatchee, Wash., two sisters, Frances (Mrs. J.O. Rasmussen) and Theresa (Mrs. Mike Heiser) of Thorp.

The funeral took place from the Bogumill Funeral Home to St. Bernard’s Church at nine o’clock, Wednesday morning, Rev. A.M. Muckerheide officiating, and interment following in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were: Mat, Clifford and Romain Heiser, Jack Keideth, Richard Rasmussen and Raymond Izydorek.
