Schmidt, Hilda (Marriage - 18 May 1935)

A very pretty spring wedding was solemnized at St. Mary’s Catholic church Saturday morning, May 18, Rev. L. J. Lang reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Hilda Schmidt, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Schmidt, became the bride of Mr. Arthur Frane, son of Mr. and Mrs. Victor Frane. Mrs. Myron Kniess of Wausau acted as bridesmaid and the groom was attended by Mr. Myron Kniess of Wausau.

The bride was attired in a becoming canary yellow crepe ensemble and her bouquet consisted of roses and snapdragons. The bridesmaid wore a dress of salmon pink satin and her bouquet also consisted of snapdragons and carnations.

A reception was held in the afternoon at the bride’s home. In the evening another delightful reception was held at the Victor Frane home. Covers were laid for forty guests. The dining rooms were decorated with yellow and white streamers, matching the bride’s costume. A wedding cake served as centerpiece and was beautifully decorated with yellow rosettes and fern sprays. After supper, the guests had an enjoyable time singing and dancing.

Out of town guests included Edward Frane, a brother of the groom, of Chicago and Mr. and Mrs. Myron Kniess and son, Harold of Wausau.

The young couple will be at home immediately on the groom’s farm at Milan, P. O. Athens, Rt. 2. A free wedding dance will be given at a later date.
