Jischkowski, August (17 June 1859 - 8 Jan. 1935)

August Jischkowski died at his home in Green Grove, eight miles west of Colby, Tuesday, cancer being the cause of his death. The deceased had reached the age of seventy-five years, six months and twenty-one days. His wife died eighteen years ago and they left no children. Funeral services will be held at the St. John’s Ev. church Friday afternoon, Rev. E. Baker officiating, and internment will be made in the Colby cemetery.

Funeral services of August Jischkowski, whose death was chronicled last week, were held at the St. John’s Ev. church Friday afternoon, Rev. E. Becker officiating, and internment was made in the Colby cemetery. The deceased was born in East Prussia, Germany, on the 17th day of June, 1859, thus reaching the age of seventy-five years, six months and twenty-one days. He came to this country with his wife in 1888, making their home at New Brighton, New York, until 1918. During the year of 1918, Mr. Jischkowski moved to Atwood soon after the loss of his wife and continued to make his home with his sister in law, Mrs. Matilda Jischkowski until the time of his death.

The surviving relatives who mourn the loss of the departed are one sister in law, Mrs. Matilda Jischkowski of Atwood; three nieces, Mrs. Fred Andriansen of Park Falls, Mrs. Amelia Sprague of St. Paul, Minn., and Mrs. Ben Domer of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; four nephews, Leo Jischkowski, of Oshkosh, Richard Hardy of Park Ridge, Ill., Herman Jischkowski of Atwood and Paul Jischkowski, also of Atwood.
