Bandow, Mayme Ann (Marriage - 20 Aug. 1934)

A very pretty wedding took place at the Zion Lutheran church Monday afternoon, Rev. O. Hoffmann reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Mayme Ann Bandow, daughter of Mrs. Mary Bandow, became the bride of Mr. Melvin V. Kilty, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Kilty of Unity. Miss Helen Bandow of Milwaukee, sister of the bride, acted as maid of honor and Miss Ruth Smart acted as bridesmaid. The groom was attended by his brother, Glen Kilty, and Fred Boden of Milwaukee. The bride’s wedding day is her birthday anniversary.

The bride was attired in a beautiful gown of white satin and lace made with a long train. Her tulle veil was arranged in a hat effect with pearl bands caught with orange blossoms. She carried an arm bouquet of yellow and white roses and swansonia. The maid of honor wore a dress of green mouseline d’soie with picture hat to match and carried a tiny muff of the same material decorated with sprays of sweet peas and swansonia. The bridesmaid was dressed in yellow mouseline d’soie with matching accessories and the little flower girl, Norma Madson, a cousin of the groom, was dressed in white organdy and carried an ivory basket of garden flowers.

Following the ceremony, a reception and a 6:30 supper was served at the home of the groom’s parents, covers being laid for seventy-five. The house was nicely decorated with white, green and yellow streamers, flowers and foliage for the occasion. In the evening, a wedding dance was given at Wiedenhoeft’s pavilion which was largely attended by friends and relatives.

Guest from out-of-town at the wedding were Miss Helen Bandow, Fred Boden and Edna Pankonen of Milwaukee, John Bandow and family of Neenah, Mrs. Mary Stevens and granddaughter of Milwaukee and Edward Matson and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Ewald of Detroit, Michigan.

Mr. and Mrs. Kilty have departed for Chicago to attend the world’s fair. They will reside on the bridegroom’s farm in the town of Hull and will be at home to friends after Sept. 1.
