Lynch, Jeremiah Wick (2 June 1850 - 14 Apr. 1933)

Jeremiah Wick Lynch passed on to the Great Beyond at the home of his daughter, Mrs. R. G. Salter, Friday evening, April 14th, at 8:00 p.m., Rev. Bushendorf of the Colby M. E. church officiating, and internment was made at Neillsville, Wis. The pall bearers were Hugo Krepsky, Henry Reeves, Sr., John Reeves, Will Roth, Ed. Zillmann and Will Wepfer, a nephew of Mr. Lynch.

The deceased was born at Harrisburg, Pa., June 2nd, 1850, thus reaching the age of eighty-two years, ten months and twelve days. He came to Clark county at the age of three years with his parents. He was married to Eunice Stannard at Neillsville, Wis., Dec. 2nd, 1887, where Mr. Lynch spent most of his life as a contractor and builder. He is survived by his wife who is ill in St. Paul and was unable to attend the funeral, one daughter, Mrs. R. G. Salter, and one step-son, D. D. Stannard of St. Paul. Four brothers and four sisters preceded him in death.

Mr. Lynch lived most of his life at Neillsville, one year in Kansas city, a year and a half in Lavares, Florida, where the family went for his health, and the last few years of his life in Colby.

The out of town people here for the funeral services were Miss Elsie Seager and Mr. Delbert Seager, niece and nephew of Neillsville; Mrs. E. Poate, sister in law of St. Paul; Mr. D. D. Stannard, step son of St. Paul.

The manner of his departure was beautiful. He hardly realized he was ill and quietly relapsed into his last slumber although, during the last few days of his life, he talked considerably of the hereafter as though he had caught a glimpse of the Pearly Gates. He filled the various relations of life, as son, husband, brother, friend, and filled them well.
