Mellenthin, Bernice Lucille (11 Apr. 1920 - 24 Sept. 1963)

Spencer, Wis. - Mrs. Eldor Mellenthin, 43, route 1, Spencer, died of a lingering illness Tuesday evening in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. John’s Lutheran Church at north Spencer. The Rev. M. L. Yonker will officiate and burial will be made in the parish cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Hansen Funeral Home in Marshfield from Thursday noon until 11 a.m. Saturday, when it will be taken to the church.

The former Bernice Lucille Woodkey was born April 11, 1920 in the town of Sherman, Clark County. She married Eldor Mellenthin Dec. 25, 1941, in the town of Sherman. After their marriage the couple moved to a farm in the town of Unity, north of Spencer where they had resided since.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid Society.

Mrs. Mellenthin is survived by her husband, a daughter, Mrs. David (Corrine) Allar, Marshfield; a sister, Mrs. Rudolph (Evelyn) Vetter, Marshfield; two brothers, Roger Woodkey, Marshfield; and Lavern Woodkey, Texas; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Max Woodkey, Marshfield; and a granddaughter, Julie.

She was preceded in death by a son.
