Henke, Mary (Marriage - 19 Oct. 1931)

A very pretty wedding ceremony took place at the Thorp Catholic church Monday, October 19th, Rev. Muchanheim of Thorp reading the marriage ceremony, when Miss Mary Henke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Henke of Thorp became the bride of Mr. Lawrence Weix, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lorence Weix of Colby. Miss Martha Henke, sister of the bride, acted as bridesmaid and Miss Agnes Henke, also a sister of the bride, was maid of honor. The groom was attended by his brother, Albert Weix.

The bride wore a beautiful dress of white satin, ankle length, with veil in cap effect and her bouquet consisted of roses and sweet peas. The bridesmaid’s dress consisted of orchid satin and her bouquet consisted of yellow chrysanthemums. The maid of honor’s dress was of peach color and her bouquet consisted of chrysanthemums to match her dress.

A reception was given at the home of the bride’s parents, the home being nicely decorated in blue, orchid, peach and white streamers for the occasion. In the evening, a free wedding dance was given which was largely attended by friends and relatives.

The groom purchased a farm three and one-half miles west of Abbotsford where they will make their home in spring.

The out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs. Lorence Weix, Sr., and son Raymond, Dr. F. A. Weix, Barbara Weix, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Weix, Mr. Mike Weix, Mr. Rudolph Weix, Mr. and Mrs. John Weix, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Beyerl, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Beyerl, Mrs. Peter Beyerl, Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Peter Beyerl, Jr., Mrs. Ambrose Beyerl, Mr. and Mrs. Alphonse Bauer, all of Colby; Harold Hoffman of Abbotsford, Mrs. W. A. Henke, of LaCrosse, Mrs. August Henke and Martha Henke.

The Phonograph joins their many friends in extending congratulations.
