Sommers, Ruth (10 JUN 1939)

Miss Ruth Sommers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Sommers of Curtiss, and Elmer Schuette of Riplinger, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Schuette of Beaver were married Saturday, June 10th at a 2:30 double ring ceremony at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church at Green Grove. The Rev. M. C. Goetsch officiated at the ceremony. During the ceremony the church choir sang "Oh Perfect Love". A solo, "I Love You Truly" was sung by Miss Adeline Goetsch, who played the "Bridal Chorus" from Lohengrin as the bridal party entered the church.

Misses Eileen Sommers and Sylvia Schuette acted as maid of honor and bride’s maid respectively, and Harley Hardrath and Wesley Schwarze attended the groom.

White lace over satin was selected by the bride for her wedding gown, which was designed on princess lines with a long train and tiny buttons decorating the front of the dress. A finger tip veil with a crown of seed pearls and a bouquet of roses and sweet peas completed her ensemble.

Peach taffeta with white accessories and blue taffeta with silver accessories were worn by Miss Sommers and Miss Schuette. Both wore face veils with crowns of flowers and corsages of sweet peas.

A five o’clock supper was served for immediate relatives at the Theodore Sommers home which was decorated with cut flowers and white, pink and blue streamers. A large wedding cake was the center piece on the supper table.

Mr. and Mrs. Schuette will be at home to their friends immediately at Riplinger where Mr. Schuette is employed as tavern keeper. They plan on taking a wedding trip sometime later.

Relatives from out of town at the wedding included Mr. and Mrs. Ottmar Schuette of La Crosse; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Sommers, Waupaca; Mr. and Mrs. Sylvan Sommers and Mr. and Mrs. William Sommers, Neenah; and Sylvia Schuette and Wesley Schwarze, Greenwood.

In the evening a wedding dance was given at the Atwood Hall.
