Hastings, Fred (5 NOV 1887 - 23 MAY 1939)

Fred Hastings, 51 years old, town of Beaver resident, passed away Tuesday afternoon at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield, after an operation.

The deceased was the son of Chas. E. and Laura Hastings. He was born at White, South Dakota, on Nov. 5.1887.

In the year of 1900 he went to Bismarck, N. Dakota, where he went in the taxi business for himself.

On April 11, 1919, he was married to Margaret Flaherty. About five years later they moved to Perkinstown, where they lived until the time of Mrs. Hastings death on Feb.!6, 1935. Mr. Hastings then made his home in the town of Beaver until the time of his death.

He leaves to mourn his loss his only sister, Mrs. Hazel Sandford of Chicago. The mother and father and two brothers, Harry and Floyd, preceded him in death. He also leaves a niece, Mrs. Ruth Kuhn, and a nephew, Mr. Roy Carnes, both of Chicago.

Funeral services were held from the W. & E. Nichols funeral home, Loyal, on Thursday afternoon with the Rev. O. Jewell officiating.

Interment was made in the Loyal cemetery.

Pall bearers were Alex Mrotek, Frank Kline, Henry Krause, Joe Wedl, Herbert Stange, and Edd Dahne.
