Ackerman, Joyce (08 May 1931 - 05 May 2007)

Joyce Ackerman, 75, Colby, died Saturday, May 5, 2007, at St. Joseph’s Hospital Palliative Care Unit.

Funeral services were held May 9th, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Curtiss, Wis. Burial was in Pine Hill Cemetery, Curtis. The Reverend Kris Bjeke-Ulliman presided.

Joyce was born May 8th, 1931, in Clark County to John and Mae (Komis) Wesneski. She graduated from Owen High School in 1949.

She and Joseph Ackerman Jr. were married February 4th, 1950. Joseph died November 11th, 1999.

Joyce and Joseph farmed in the Town of Hoard until retiring in 1991. She also worked in area nursing homes. Joyce moved to Abbotsford in 2005 and spent the last two years at the Angeles Retirement Community in Colby. She enjoyed reading and puzzles. Joyce was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Ackerman is survived by her children, Dennis (Lee) Ackerman, Monument, CO, David (Susan) Ackerman, Waukesha, Dale (Shirley Arneson) Ackerman, Milan, Daniel (Kristi) Ackerman, Loveland, CO, Joann (Burt) Raczykowski, Monument, CO, Dean (Susan) Ackerman, Owen and Douglas (Polly) Ackerman, Withee; seventeen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Anna Mae Porath, Withee and Jean (George) Behringer, Winneconne.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one sister.

Maurina-Community Funeral Home, Abbotsford, assisted the family with arrangements.
