Baures, Margaret L. #2 (11 JUN 1921 - 28 MAY 2007)

Margaret L. Baures, 85, Thorp, died at Our Lady of Victory Hospital on Monday, May 28, 2007. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 30, from 4-8 p.m., with a 6 p.m. rosary service at Thorp Funeral Home, and again on Thursday, May 31, from 9:30 a.m., until time of services at 10:30 a.m., at St. Bernard-St, Hedwig’s Catholic Church in Thorp. The Rev. Keith Apfelbeck will officiate, Burial will follow in St. Bernard’s Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon Baures, Bronson Baures, Joseph Baures, Shane Baures, Jon Baures, Dan Nowobielski, Brian Frank and Michael Frank. Honorary pallbearers will be Nate Baures, and Penn Rawn.

Margaret Laura Beckman was born on June 11, 1921, in Thorp, to Otto and Mary (nee Pingel) Beckman. She graduated from Thorp High School in 1939. She married Edward Baures on June 18, 1949, at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church, Thorp. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1989. They lived on a farm south of Thorp, in Sheboygan for three years, and in the town of Reseburg, where they farmed until 1974, then moved to the city of Thorp in 1977. In 2003, she moved to Morgan Plaza. She spent her last months at Oakbrook Health and Rehab. She was a member of St. Bernard-St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church and its PCCW, the Thorp American Legion Auxiliary, the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and worked as a volunteer at the senior citizen center. She was an axid quilter.

Survivors include five sons, Jim (Therese) Baures, Thorp, Don (Deb) Baures, Thorp, Len (Sharon) Baures, Greenwood, Nick (Julie) Baures, Caledonia, and Dean (Vicky) Baures, Eau Claire; three daughters, Audrey (Bob) Nowobielski, Thorp, Roseann (Tom) Frank, Marshfield, and Linda Rawn, Harve, Mont.; 26 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence (Eleanore) Beckman, Milwaukee; and three sisters, Hilda Ricci, Boston, Mass., Lena Drinkwine, Mondovi, and Susan Beckman, Thorp.
