Altman, Otto H. (18 JUN 1867 - 15 FEB 1939)

Otto H. Altman was born in Rubicon, Dodge County, June 18, 1867 and passed away at Stockbridge, Feb. 15, 1939 where he had made his home for the past nine years.

On Dec. 12, 1891 he was united in marriage to Miss Augusta Hoeys of Wittenburg. To this union was born seven daughters and six sons. Mrs. Altman and one son preceded him in death.

In 1899 Mr. Altman purchased the farm one-half mile south of the village, that is now the Joe Wedl farm, and moved his family there where they made their home for several years, then sold the farm and moved his family into the village where the made their home until 1918 when they moved to Elcho.

The deceased is survived by his daughters Mrs. Chas. Beer, (Alma) Waupaca, Mrs. Amanda Dennis, Oshkosh; Mrs. John Kennedy (Dale) Fond du Lac; Mrs. Beech Rising (Eleanore) Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. Robert Sullivan, (Leona) Chicago, Ill.; Miss Anna Altman, Milwaukee and Miss Elsie Altman, Los Angeles, Calif. The sons are Arthur, Elcho; Edward, Laona; Albert, Detroit, Mich.; John, Fond du Lac; and James of San Francisco, Calif. There are twelve grandchildren and one brother, Mr. Frank Altman of Forest Junction.

Funeral services were conducted at Stockbridge on Saturday morning, Feb. 18 by the Rev. Roy Curless, pastor of the Methodist Church of that city and the body was brought to Loyal for burial in the Lutheran Cemetery which Mr. Altman endowed to the village many years ago.

While Mr. Altman and his family lived in our midst they made many friends who extend their sympathy to this family at this time.

Those from away who attended the burial services Saturday P. M. were Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Beer and daughter Ada, Waupaca; Mr. and Mrs. John Kennedy and Mrs. Amanda Dennis, Oshkosh; Mr. Arthur Altman, Elcho; Rev. Roy Curless, Stockbridge; and Mr. and Mrs. Procknow, Fond du Lac.
