Luepke, August F. (3 Aug. 1878 - 31 Jan. 1968)

August F. Luepke, 89, of 308 N. Central Ave., died at 4 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Bethel Convalescent Home where he had resided since June, 1967.

Services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Hansen Chapel with the Rev. Wesley Dafoe, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be made in Hillside cemetery.

The body will repose at the funeral home from 2 p.m. Thursday until the time of services.

Mr. Luepke was born Aug. 3, 1878, at Romeo in Clark County, and received his education there. His marriage to Elizabeth Fenhouse, who preceded him in death in 1962, took place April 2, 1906, at Bessemer, Mich.

After their marriage, the couple resided at Spencer, Unity, Colby, Loyal and Ladysmith before coming to Marshfield in 1941. Mr. Luepke had farmed in the area and while in Spencer was in the feed business.

Survivors are three daughters, Miss Elnora Luepke, Marshfield; Mrs. Myron (Hazel) Riplinger, LaCrosse; and Mrs. Harold (Viola) Newman, Loyal; four sons, Warnerd, James and Melvin Luepke, all of Milwaukee; and Vern Luepke , Aledo, Ill.; a step son, Casper Tietma, Grand Rapids, Mich.; 28 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Three daughters preceded him in death.
